Therapy

Therapy

Localised therapy for allergic eczema involves anti-inflammatory treatment. In addition, the skin should be protected from allergens and other unnecessary irritations (cold, moisture). Regular skin care also plays an important role in the healing process. Especially difficult cases may require treatment with ultraviolet light or medications.

After the epicutaneous test has identified the allergen responsible for the contact eczema, patients should avoid the allergen as much as possible. Patients should be provided with an "Allergy Pass", listing substances the patient is allergic to, and where those substances are commonly found.

Check whether substances you use in your daily routine contain contact allergens – this can help you avoid them in the future!
