There are many types of reaction to medication. These include side effects, and also allergic or pseudoallergic reactions.
Many medications have side effects, whose severity depends on the dosage. When two or more medications are taken simultaneously, the combination of medications can cause other side effects.
Allergic and pseudoallergic reactions are separate phemonena. An allergic reaction to medication means the immune system is attacking the foreign substance, resulting in a skin rash or irritation of the mucous membranes. A pseudoallergic reaction is a non-immune reaction that causes symptoms similar to those of an allergic reaction.
