The IgE-test is the most common blood test for diagnosing an allergy.
This test measures the IgE antibody concentration in the blood; blood samples from the patient are brought into contact with the suspected allergen.
The severity of the allergy can be diagnosed depending on whether and how many IgE-antibodies result from the contact with the allergen.
