In General: the ECARF Quality Seal

Allergies are increasing dramatically in all industrialised countries, with roughly 30% of the European population currently afflicted. Experts believe that the figure will reach one in two by 2010. Nevertheless there is a tendency to minimise the importance of allergies in public discourse and in the health care system.

The ECARF Seal of Approval aims at the certification of products and services that are specially adapted for persons suffering from allergies.

The seal is awarded to those products and services that have proven to increase the quality of daily life of allergic patients.

In general, the seal can be awarded to all products like, e.g. food, cosmetics, washing and cleaning agents, as well as services like hotels and catering provided that the manufacturer or service provider fulfils the specific quality requirements guaranteeing a better quality of life for allergics.
