Hotel in northern Denmark meets the needs of allergy sufferers

The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) has for the first time certified a hotel in Denmark as allergy-friendly.

The amenities offered by “Ruth’s Hotel” in Skagen in northern Denmark meet the foundation’s scientifically determined criteria and therefore receive the ECARF Seal of Quality for allergy-friendly products and services. Allergy-sufferers are accommodated in rooms free of animal hair, which are outfitted with mite-proof mattress coverings and allergy-neutral flooring. The hotel kitchen is equipped to meet the needs of persons with food allergies, and the staff is trained to advise guests about allergy-friendly services. Prof. Dr. med. Torsten Zuberbier, head of the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF), points out the significance of this designation: “In offering services in keeping with our practical guidelines, Ruth’s Hotel allows allergy sufferers to enjoy a higher quality holiday experience.”

Since 2006, the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) has used scientifically determined criteria to select products and services that significantly improve quality of life for persons with allergies, and certified them with the foundation’s own seal of quality.
