Prof. Dr. med. Karl-Christian Bergmann, ECARF expert and lung specialist at the Charité:
"The cloud of ash is located several kilometers above sea level. Even if some particles from the cloud were to enter the respiratory passages, they would cause no acute health problems for allergy sufferers or even for asthmatic patients with damaged upper or lower respiratory passages (nose or bronchial tubes). According to current information, the pollen count will neither increase nor decrease."
