11. January 2017
We have a busy year ahead of us!

2016 was an exciting year for ECARF. For our new website, we did a lot of research, worked on a new design and spoke with many people. For our retirement home project, we toured Berlin and gathered information from caregivers and residents of retirement homes about optimal skincare for the elderly. We said goodbye to our volunteer Caro and welcomed Lara to the team. She will be with us until autumn. For more details, you can read our 2016 annual report, which will appear at the end of January.

We were especially pleased to receive your feedback, questions and comments last year and hope to hear from you just as often in 2017.

We have a lot in store for 2017. Here are the top three activities we have planned:

  • The launch of our website last year was just the beginning. This year we will continue to provide you with scientific, evidence-based and practical information. Our goal is to help you get involved in designing your own therapy process. And we believe that you need unbiased information in order to do this. Did you know that, in accordance with the foundation charter, the ECARF Foundation works independently of pharmaceutical industry, our information conforms to strict requirements for modern healthcare communication, and all communication materials are guaranteed free of advertisements?
  • We would like to publish our activity book for children with food allergies, full of fun crafting projects for children with and without allergies to do together. But we still need funding for it, which is why we would like your support.
  • 2017 is election year. Just as last year, we are still politically active and committed to our goals. There is still a long way to go in improving the treatment available to people with allergies. You can find out more about our political commitment by reading our policy letters (in German) from last year. These are sent to the leading federal and state politicians and ministry staff.

We are looking forward to 2017!
